Google will no longer index websites that are not optimized for mobile devices

Starting from July 5, 2024, Google will fully transition to indexing websites using a mobile-first indexing model. This means significant changes and challenges for those without mobile-friendly website support. Why is this happening? Smartprovide will explain.

In essence, these changes will affect all websites within Google’s search network. Previously, the platform scanned and indexed sites using the Googlebot operating system, but now Google will only crawl and index sites using the Googlebot Smartphone.

If a website’s content is completely inaccessible on mobile devices, it will no longer be indexed for search engines. For regular users, this means that certain websites without mobile versions will not appear in search results.

It will become increasingly difficult to find web pages from such companies via Google, even using specific keywords, and these sites will be less likely to attract leads.

Google’s representatives have made this decision based on analytics of website and device usage trends. Smartphones, tablets, smartwatches—these are actively used for browsing information, ordering food, purchasing goods, and more.

For instance, consider Smartprovide’s website. Our site is optimized for mobile devices, allowing all users to load pages quickly, featuring a user-friendly design that enhances interactivity. This meets user needs instantly, regardless of their device, rather than tying user satisfaction to a local computer or laptop.

Currently, there are two main ways to create a mobile site: adaptive design, which adjusts to different screen sizes, and a separate mobile version of the site, specifically optimized for mobile devices. The choice depends on your specific needs and budget.

If your site is not yet optimized for mobile devices, it is recommended to take action as soon as possible to maintain its visibility in Google search results.

At Smartprovide, we create websites with adaptive mobile versions from the outset because we prioritize the convenience of potential clients who visit your site.
